Norwegian cod farmer Statt Torsk announced Monday it is increasing production at its Rekvika site by 340,000 fingerlings in 2021.

With the addition, a total of 1.19 million fingerlings have now been put to sea in 2021, which is expected to yield a 2023 harvested volume of around 5,000 metric tons, an increase of about 1,200 metric tons from the company’s earlier plan.

The expected harvest volume in 2022 is unchanged at 3,000 metric tons of whole fish equivalent (WFE).

The group's Rekvika site was opened this summer. Additionally a new feed barge owned by Statt is currently operating, replacing a rented barge that has been used up until now.

The company now has two sites in Vanylvsfjorden, Norway, with a target of 12,000 metric tons of WFE annual production by 2024.
