Norwegian cod farmer Norcod has reached the sea phase for its pioneering project in cod farming. The fry were transported from a plant in Kjorsvikbugen, Norway, to the company's first cod farm in Namsos.

The plant is operated in partnership with Namdal Settefisk.

The first batch of fry totals 123,000 fish weighing an average of 140 grams, followed by a second batch of 75,000 fish weighing an average of 215 grams.

The fry were placed in two fish farming cages and are reportedly in good shape, according to a release by the company.
