Norway sea lice center launches effort to secure funding

University of Bergen Professor Frank Nilsen plans to canvass the salmon industry in an effort to secure financing for the continued running of the Lakselus Center.

Nilsen heads the Sea Lice Research Center, as it is officially called, at the University of Bergen. When the SLRC completes its eighth year of work next September, funding that helped create and sustain the center will run out.

The total budget for eight years of operation is NOK 230 million ($27.3 million/€24.1 million).
