Speaking at the recent IntraFish Seafood Investor Forum in London, Norway Royal Salmon CEO Charles Hostlund said his company believes Iceland is the "new frontier in salmon farming."

The company acquired a 50 percent stake in Arctic Fish in the third quarter of the year -- its first venture into the Icelandic salmon farming sector.

While in the global picture Iceland's supply is still small -- about 8,000 metric tons are expected to be produced in 2016 -- the growth potential is "significant," he said.
