Third quarter volumes for Norwegian salmon farmer SalMar came in almost 9 percent higher than a year ago thanks to an increase in production volume from its northern region farms and from its new Icelandic farm, Arnalax.

Central region volumes still accounted for the vast majority of the company's production, but fell 15 percent to 28,100 metric tons gross weight, while the northern region recovered from a 70 percent fall in last year's third quarter to hit 5,400 metric tons.
