Norwegian salmon producer Nordlaks reported a 5,000-liter oil spill from its Dypingen feed facility in Troms, Norway on July 13.

Forensic scientists and investigators in the area claim the spill was from a twelve cubic meter tank outside the fish farm which is used to fill boats with diesel, NRK.no reported.

"We know what happened but have not found out why," Troms Police District Operations Manager Jorgen Ahlquist said. "A hose on the pump between the tank and the filling engine has cracked and the diesel leaked into the fjord."
