Land-based salmon farmer Nordic Aquafarms has moved a step closer in its bid to bring its project to fruition in Maine.

The Board of the Department of Environmental Protection (BEP) held deliberations on the company’s state permit applications on Wednesday.

The board has not made any findings and did not make a decision on the applications. The next step in the process is for staff to draft a recommendation on each of the applications for board consideration at a future meeting.
