A Nofima research project that deals with hydrogen sulphide received NOK 12 million (€1.2 million/$1.3 million) in financial support, while its disinfection project received NOK 8 million (€811,000/$906,000).

"We have received support for a six-year project dealing with hydrogen sulfide (HS2) in recirculating aquaculture facilities (RAS)," the company's division director Bente Torstensen told IntraFish. The second project will run for four years and is about disinfecting the facilities.

A big problem later on

In a press release from Nofima, the company writes that hydrogen sulfide in RAS plants has become a significant problem in recent years.
