Cooke Aquaculture could be facing upwards of $81.84 million (€69.3 million) in penalties per violation due to a lawsuit filed this week by Washington-based environmental group Wild Fish Conservancy (WFC) for repeated and ongoing violations of the Clean Water Act (CWA).

WFC asked the court to penalize Cooke up to $37,500 (€32,122) per day for each violation before Nov. 2, 2015, and $52,414 (€44,897) per day for each violation after that date.
