Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC) scientists are launching a new program to boost the Filipino shrimp industry, according to the Daily Guardian.

The SEAFDEC Aquaculture department plans to improve measures to spot shrimp disease symptoms more quickly, including a culture technique currently under development according to the news site.

Also, the Shrimp Broodstock Development Team is implementing an improved broodstock selection scheme and also plans to improve quarantine and biosecurity protocols, according to the news site.
