Norway-based DESS Aquaculture Shipping took delivery of the second of six vessels on Dec. 9, according to a LinkedIn post.

The wellboat, Aqua Maloy, was built abroad for the Norwegian shipping company. The wellboat, designed by Salt Ship Design, is 82.25 meters long by 16 meters wide.

DESS Aquaculture is a joint venture between Norway's salmon giant Mowi and offshore supply vessel company Deep Sea Supply (DESS), which has been developing vessels since 2016.

In April, Mowi launched the Aqua Tromoy, a vessel it described as the "largest and most technologically advanced vessel to ever serve the Canadian aquaculture industry" in British Columbia waters.
