The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC) and Mowi, two of Scotland's largest salmon farmers, are exchanging farming sites around the Isle of Harris, in a bid to centralize management rather than operating over "geographically disparate locations".

The move will create distinct management areas for the two companies, and is expected to help with health management including sea lice control.

"This site exchange is a prime example of how positive collaboration between companies can lead to a win-win situation both from a fish health perspective and environmentally," said Ben Hadfield, Mowi COO farming Scotland, Ireland and the Faroes.
