Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi is looking to divest its 50 percent stake in the wellboat company DESS Aquaculture Shipping, it said in its latest financial report.

Mowi entered into the aquaculture shipping joint venture (JV) in 2016 in response to the growing demand for wellboat capacity and to reduce costs.

Since then, DESS Aquaculture Shipping has “developed into a highly competitive wellboat company” with 10 vessels in operations, two under construction and another two to be contracted shortly.
