The world's largest salmon farmer, Mowi has decided to exit the Global Salmon Initiative (GSI), believing the group has now served its purpose.

Established in 2013 by producers, up until this point the GSI claimed to represent approximately 50 percent of the global farmed salmon sector.

Focused on making significant progress on industry sustainability, today the GSI comprises 21 companies which have a presence in Australia, Canada, Chile, the Faroe Islands, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway and the UK.
