Chile’s Superintendencia del Medio Ambiente (SMA) is filing charges against Mowi Chile for alleged overproduction at its farm in Centro Quitralco, in Aysen.
The SMA made the decision to press charges, after analyzing data provided by Sernapesca in a complaint dating back to 2018.
The “serious charges” accuse the company of producing 3,800 metric tons more salmon than it was authorized as per its Environmental Qualification Resolution (RCA).
