Recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) provider Billund Aquaculture Norway is tasked with building Mowi's smolt facility in Floro, Norway.
Billund Aquaculture Norway is already in the final stages of installing a RAS fry facility at Mowi's site.
However, the new agreement includes RAS, piping, electricity, energy and a feed system.
With its permit, Mowi can produce up to 7.5 million fish annually, allowing the company to increase it's smolt production from 400 metric tons to 1,5000 metric tons.
Construction began in September with the facility's kick off planned for March 2022.
Billund will carry out the build up along with Norwegian civil contractor Veidekke.
