Marine Harvest reported a possible outbreak of infectious salmon anemia (ISA) at its site in Sørfolda, Norway, but its likely the impact will be relatively limited, authorities said.

If the suspicion is confirmed, Norwegian food safety authority Mattilsynet will mandate a control area 10-20 kilometers around the site.

While there are several farms in the region, the overall volume of fish in the area is relatively low, according to Mattilsynet.

Other companies with farms in the area, including Nordlaks, said they do not expect any impact on their operations.
