Insurance giants such as AXA XL Catlin are wary of insuring recirculation aquaculture systems (RAS) projects, but key to its decision-making process for assessing risk, is who is at the helm.
"We see the operations of these farms as the most critical factor and how the management has been trained and whether they have the proper education," AXA Head of Aquaculture Geir Myre told IntraFish.
AXA generally focuses on companies operating within the mainstream aquaculture sector.
