Arctic Seafood Group, a company owned by Jerzy Malek, has been declined three development licenses for Intelli-Aqua system.

The system consists of a submersible net cover with air snorkel and an advanced sensor platform.

The purpose is to reduce lice impact by keeping the fish under the lice belt. The sensor solution should be able to give farmers continuous analysis of the fish's behavior and welfare in order to optimize operation and increase fish welfare.

In its rejection of the licenses, the Directorate of Fisheries concluded there is not enough close connection between the sensor system and the actual production of fish.
