UK retail giants Co-op and Waitrose are temporarily suspending supplies from The Scottish Salmon Company (SSC), one of the largest farmed salmon players in Scotland, over accusations of serious fish welfare breaches.
Farmed animal advocator Animal Equality UK leaked a secretly filmed video on Feb. 13 purportedly showing the salmon farmer's facility on the Isle of Lewis, where fish were left suffocating on the floor, after several attempts to stun them failed.
