The acquisition of the salmon farming arm of Friosur by Chilean agro-food giant Agrosuper, parent of salmon farming company Los Fiordos, is a major step for consolidation in the Chilean salmon industry.
Sady Delgado, CEO of Los Fiordos, told IntraFish one of the most important factors leading to their $229 million (€194 million) offer for Friosur was the performance history of the company.
“Friosur is admired by the industry and has a remarkably professional team,” Delgado said. “We are very happy with this acquistion.”
