One of India's largest seafood exporters, Sandhya Marines, is entering the feed industry with investment in a 60,000 metric ton factory in Andhra Pradesh, India's key shrimp producing region.

Set to begin operations next month, the new division was spurred on by "great demand" for high quality shrimp feed in the country, Feed Marketing Manager Prasanna Kumar Biswal told IntraFish.

Sandhya currently operates two processing plants in West Godavari and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh, with a focus on value-added shrimp for the US and European markets.
