Major land-based salmon farmers have each carved their own path in seeking out investment for commercial projects with massive capital, labor costs and risk.

That was the consensus among the land-based salmon panelists participating in the 2020 RAS Virtual Summit, held last month.

Martin Fothergill, board director at Pure Salmon, said the company chose to go the private equity (PE) route, where it raised $359 million via its PE group 8F Asset Management for land-based projects in Poland, Japan, France and the United States.
