Norwegian land-based salmon farmer Gigante Salmon has entered into a three year agreement with feed giant Skretting, the companies announced Monday.
Nutreco-owned Skretting has made feed for farmed salmon and trout since the 1960s, and has had a particularly strong position in hatchery fish. The company is now betting on feed for land-based food fish production.
"This is a very exciting and unique project that will provide valuable learning for both parties," said Truls Jakob Dahl, commercial director for land-based farming in Skretting.
