A plan to build a land-based salmon farm in an unused military facility near Oslo has been rejected by Norwegian environmental authorities, according to documents seen by IntraFish.

The company, Faerder Fyr, planned to start salmon farming in the former military facility near Faerder National Park in the Tonsberg region.

Faerder Fyr hoped to build a pilot plant with a capacity of 1,000 metric tons of salmon in the 25,000 square-meter facility.
