The Kingfish Company said Tuesday it has received a US Army Corps of Engineers permit, a federal permit needed to be able produce yellowtail at its site in Jonesport, Maine.
The company received permits from the State of Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP) and critical water-side permits in 2021.
The 8,500 metric-tons project is in the latter stages of design, and a bidding process for the selection of contractors is underway.
