'It can't go on like this': Chile salmon farming industry to meet authorities in wake of armed attack

It is unclear what can be done to stem the rising tide of attacks that have become more frequent since an outbreak of social unrest in Chile in October 2019.

Armed attackers set fire to a salmon smolt facility owned by Cermaq on Jan. 28. The gunmen left a note claiming the attack was carried out by a militant Native rights group, though police have not confirmed the group responsible. Salmones Yadran was leasing the facility at the time of the attack.
