Israel’s AquaMaof Aquaculture Technologies is building a €25 million ($28.4 million) land-based Atlantic salmon farming project in Russia, the company said.

The facility is financed by local investors, and is expected to stock the first batch of eggs towards the fourth quarter of 2019.

The recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) facility will have a capacity to produce 2,500 metric tons of Atlantic salmon a year.

The facility will include a hatchery, nursery, and full grow-out areas, as well as management and operational zones.
