The detection of the ISA virus in two cages of the Cermaq Rowlett salmon farm in Chile’s Aysen region has forced the company to bring the harvest of the other 18 cages forward in an effort to prevent the spread of the virus.

Chile’s National Service of Fisheries and Aquaculture (Sernapesca) informed the company of a possible ISA outbreak following a routine audit at the site, which was later confirmed by scientists.
