THE FAROE ISLANDS have become the latest target for infectious salmon anaemia (ISA) which has been found for the fist time in the islands at the Alilaks fish farm in Fuglafjordur.

The Faroese authorities have launched an immediate review of the controls against Infectious Salmon Anaemia (ISA).

Salmon farming has been a growing industry in the Faroes and a production of 50,000 tonnes was expected this year. Salmon farms could support many jobs in the Faroes and farmed salmon already represents 25% of the island's fish export industry.
