Cermaq Chile detected the presence of the infectious salmon anaemia (ISA) virus at its Canal Bertrand site in Magallanes.

Routine checks found positive results for ISA at eight cages in a center that was being harvested at the time of the incident.

“We have implemented all the measures and we will continue to monitor this situation closely to avoid any further impact to our company or the neighboring companies,” said Morten Naerland, interim CEO of Cermaq.
