Ireland’s first aquaculture accelerator program kicked off Tuesday in Cork. The accelerator is being managed by Hatch, who ran the world’s first Accelerator for Aquaculture in Norway in June.

The accelerator program, an intensive fixed-term program aimed at upscaling start-ups, including access to investors, workshops and mentoring, is being funded under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund(EMFF).

"The sector needs to start attracting more talent, not just aquaculture talent but technical talent to help solve the problems within the industry and Hatch seeks to act as a catalyst to drive more innovation into the industry," said Wayne Murphy, COO at Hatch, at the launch.
