A surge in coastal shrimp farm production to more than 500,000 metric tons consistently over the last two years has helped boost seafood exports from India, according to Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA), reports the Economic Times.

Addressing delegates at Aqua Aquaria India 2017, Karnataka Fisheries Minister Pramod Madhwaraj called for an ambitious target of $10 billion (€9.1 billion) worth of seafood exports by 2020.
