Himachal Pradesh in the Himalayas has plans for up 15 fish ponds using recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology in the coming years, Times of Indireported.

Different varieties of fish will be raised in the ponds, which will be set up under normal water temperature conditions and cold water conditions.

The state will produce about 270 metric tons annually of land-based trout, pangasius, tilapia, and common carp, Fisheries Minister Virender Kanwar said.
