Icelandic salmon farming companies Ice Fish Farm and Laxar Fiskeldi have entered into "strategic discussions" amid speculation of a potential merger, according to a stock exchange announcement on June 23.
In the statement, Ice Fish Farm said it had entered into talks with Laxar Fiskeldi "for the purpose of exploring strategic opportunities between the companies going forward."
The company added it would provide further information if and when the discussions had progressed and "materialized into something more specific."
