Icelandic salmon farmer Laxar -- controlled by Måsøval -- hit a "milestone" and is now producing 2.1 million big smolt, according to Chairman Lars Måsøval.

"We have made significant investments in a plant of almost 20,000 cubic meters, where we are currently holding 2.1 million smolt," he told IntraFish. They range from 100-600 grams, with a total average weight of 300 grams.

"This gives us a good harvest outlook from next summer," he said.

Måsøval entered on the ownership side of Laxar in June 2016 through a private placement.
