Matorka's new land-based fish farm, located only a few kilometers outside of Grindavik, Iceland, has yet to be built. The site is still empty, apart from an excavator and a yellow truck.

Here and there, markers have been put into the black volcanic rocks that are typical for the area -- parameters for the upcoming construction work. Only six months down the line, though, the area will house one of the country's largest land-based fish farms.

Matorka, an Icelandic Arctic charr producer, was founded by three Icelandic industry veterans in 2010.
