Norwegian group Midt-Norsk Havbruk (MNH) Produktion's semi-closed salmon farming concept known as "Aquatraz" was recently impacted by strong winds.

The first fall storm on Norway's Trøndelag coast hit one of the cages on Oct. 23.

The Aquatraz cage was raised for washing and disinfection work, and was placed on a specially-built floating device when heavy winds unmoored the cage and ran it aground.

The cages are generally immersed in the sea and filled with fish, where they are not exposed to wind.
