Grieg Seafood Shetland has been readmitted as a member of the Scottish Salmon Producers Organization (SSPO) almost five years after it was expelled over a “serious contravention” of the Scottish aquaculture code of conduct.

“I am delighted to let you know that we now have Grieg Seafood Shetland in membership and so the position I have set out in this letter is one agreed by all the salmon farming industry,” said Julie Hesketh‐Laird, CEO of the SSPO, in a letter sent to authorities asking for stricter measures on sea lice reporting.
