Norwegian salmon producer Grieg Seafood has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with breeding company AquaGen.

Grieg Seafood Rogaland will produce broodfish and eggs of AquaGen strain at facilities in Erfjord.

The accord also includes egg deliveries from AquaGen to the company’s production in Rogaland, Finnmark and Shetland.

Grieg Seafood’s focus on increased survival rates and improved production growth allied to Aquagen's expertise in selecting salmon with good growth properties will bolster the company in its goal of moving towards production of 100,000 metric tons by 2020, Grieg Seafood CEO Andreas Kvame said.
