Norwegian authorities have rejected salmon farm development projects proposed by Grieg Seafood Rogaland, Eidsfjord Sjøfarm and Bjørøya/Folla Development.

Grieg Seafood Rogaland's application for 10 development permits for its so called 'Blue Farm,' a tension anchored concrete slab-based concept, was unsuccessful.

In December last year, the company received notification that the project fell within the scope of development permits. But after further scrutiny, Norway's Fisheries Directorate rejected it, citing too high a risk of environmental damage.
