Despite all of the recent turmoil in British Columbia, the province -- and Canada in general -- remain a major area for growth, according to Grieg Seafood's top executive.

Grieg Seafood CEO Andreas Kvame told an audience at the recent North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) the company plans to increase production substantially in the province in the coming years, citing its importance in terms of proximity to the US West coast consumer market.

In the next four years, Grieg plans to increase its BC harvest by 36 percent to 30,000 metric tons compared to its 2022 levels, according to data he presented at NASF.
