Global shrimp production is expected to fall 10.5 percent this year, amid low prices and as the industry battles fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The forecast came during a presentation made by Rabobank analyst Gorjan Nikolik for the Global Aquaculture Alliance's (GAA) Goal conference, which this year is being held online.

It follows a 1.5 percent increase last year and precedes a forecast for growth of more than 8 percent in 2021.
