Genetics firm GenoMar opens tilapia breeding and genetics center in Brazil

The new facility will support the company's expansion efforts in the region, where it is looking to make inroads in Colombia and Mexico.

With 13 hatcheries, GenoMar CEO Alejandro Tola Alvarez calculates his company accounts for a quarter of tilapia genetics in Brazil delivering fingerlings directly to the country's aquaculture producers.
