Norway's Ministry of Trade and Fisheries has rejected DigiFarm, a concept designed for higher precision farming in semi-closed aquaculture systems.

The commercial diving company behind the project, Mohn Drilling, had applied for six development permits but those were first rejected by the Directorate of Fisheries in 2018.

Mohn Drilling appealed the rejection, but the decision was upheld.

"When we spend a lot of time researching results and calculations to develop our projects and then they say 'we think it will work, but not necessarily as well as you say,' -- it's pretty frustrating," Mohn Technology Development Manager Magnus Rogne Myklebost told IntraFish.
