Cherbourg-based GMG, which owns the brand "Saumon de France" received fresh investment in the “several millions” back in May and is starting to diversify into more premium products as well as processing and smoking.
Gavin Moss, managing director at the company, told IntraFish the company is now not only producing its premium Atlantic salmon range, but is also producing a number of other species as well.
“We’ve diversified the production in the salmon farm in Cherbourg, and are increasing production up to 3,000 metric tons of five different products,” Moss said.
