While other investors are eyeing land-based aquaculture in the United States as the future of seafood production, the former CFO for Fortune 500 company Molina Healthcare is going all in on offshore aquaculture.
"This is an industry that is on the verge of just exploding," John Molina, now a founding investor in the Long Beach, California-based company Pacific6, told IntraFish.
Pacific6 is currently underwriting Pacific Ocean AquaFarms, which has begun the regulatory review process for an offshore yellowtail farm proposed to be located four miles off the coast of San Diego, California.
