UK food distribution company Golden Acre is investing “a significant amount” of cash into Scottish startup Loch Long Salmon (LLS), which is planning to build the first semi-closed salmon farming operation in the country.

Loch Long Salmon is a newly formed joint venture (JV) between aquaculture services company Trimara Services and blue economy developer Simply Blue Aquaculture.

The group is ultimately planning to farm up to 20,000 metric tons of salmon per year in what will be Scotland's first semi-closed containment salmon farm.
