A Norway-based smolt facility operated by salmon farming giant Mowi was hit by a blaze Wednesday morning.

The fire hit the company's Skjervoy facility around 10:30 am GMT+1. Firefighters in Troms county were able to bring the fire under control. Two workers were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, but no other casualties were reported.

The facility, which has been under construction since 2018, is expected to cost NOK 400 million ($44 million) to complete.
