The Finland-based international financier which recently invested $6 million (€5.4 million) into Yalelo Limited, Zambia's largest tilapia farmer, is still looking for aquaculture investments in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia, Finnfund Associate Director Jari Matero told IntraFish.

Finnfund invests around €200 million ($221.1 million) a year into companies that align with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

"We don't have specific investment targets specifically for aquaculture investments annually but, on the other hand, we have no restrictions as well. So investments in aquaculture are a little opportunistic in the sense that we do the investment when we find a suitable company."
